Herrera de Valdecañas

It is a municipality in the province of Palencia located in the south, situated over the Arlanzón Valley, belonging to the Cerrato Palentino region. It is 30 kilometers away from the provincial capital and currently has 145 residents (data updated on 1-1-18). Rich in iron and with fertile soil, these are the characteristics that give the locality its name.
Inhabited since Roman times, there was an important villa in the area of Santa Lucía. Alfonso III reconquered it at the end of the 9th century, and in the 11th century, it became part of the Diocese of Burgos, belonging to the alfoz of Palenzuela.

Un lugar con encanto, sin duda para repetir!

The location of the Posada Villa Ferrera is for us perfect, very quiet and still very close to the highway, at a perfect distance from our house in Portugal for our last stopover on our travels from the Netherlands. This hotel has very comfortable rooms, a pleasant staff and a simple restaurant.
